DEVELOPMENT FOR METHODS OF PROTECTION OF THEKAMA RESERVOIR AGAINST OIL POLLUTION
V. T. Hmurchik, S. V. Kazakevich, N. G. Maximovich, V. V. Nikiforov
During 50-year period of exploitation of Polazna oil deposit (Western Urals) an oil lens was formed on the surface of water table and became a source of pollution of the Kama Reservoir. The analysis of geological and hydrogeoloeical information on oil deposit has shown that discharge of oil on a coastal line is connected with its long-term exploitation.
The available data show that the most probable and basic source of technogenic oil lens forming are spills and discharge of oil on the ground surface at initial stages of exploitation of a deposit, and a major factor promoting this - is an intensive karstification of the territory.
Two methods were offered for a pollution control of the Kama Reservoir taking into account complex geological and ecological conditions of the deposit, i.e.: (1) pumping of oil from the surface of lens with the use of special technology; (2) biochemical destruction of oil on the basis of activization of microorganisms existing in the oil lens and stimulating its natural biodegradation.
